Step 10: Fundraisers

  • We run a large fundraiser with our Girls to pay for the costs of our program.  Please read the note below that I wrote to explain our fundraiser, how it works and what it will help us purchase.

Adams Girls Soccer Fundraiser

Hey everyone,

I want to fill you all in on our fundraiser that we are kicking off Monday so that you can help support the girls as they take on this challenge to help fund and upgrade our program.

I just want to start by saying that fundraising for our program is a necessary evil.  Unfortunately we do not receive enough funding for all of the improvements and general necessities that we need to keep our program functioning the way it should as a consistent top ten program in the state.  An example of this is that last year I received $1,000 to help us with uniform costs that ran us around $6,000. In order to get those purchased last year our program needed to raise $5,000 just for that cost.

We really do appreciate the Girls efforts and all of your patience.

What is the Fundraiser?

This years fundraiser is in two parts.  Your daughters will be coming home soon with an envelope holding ten coupon cards.  Each card is sold at $25 dollars.  We are also using a website this year where we can accept online donations from anyone interested in helping the Girls.

We are working on making the donations tax deductable.  As of right now they are not. I will update all of you as soon as I find this out later this week.

Donations can be accepted at…

We are asking that each player strives to bring in $250, which would make our program $200 in profit.  For every coupon sold we make $20 out of the $25.  The same goes for every donation online.

The girls can meet their goal of $250 by doing any of the following:

  • Selling all 10 coupon cards = $250

  • Getting all donations online = $250

  • Selling some of the coupons and getting some donations (ex. Sell 5 coupons and make $125, then get $125 in donations = $250).

I will be telling the girls that once they meet the $250 goal by any of the ways above they are done and can stop.  Of course the girls can go above that, but we are just asking for $250, which would give us a profit of $200 per player.

Our goal is to have the fundraiser finished by the start of Spring Break, but we will continue fundraising until our goal is met.

What is our financial goal?

Our financial goal for this fundraiser is $10,000.

What will the funds be used for?

To fund and upgrade our program this year we will need to raise $10,000.  The money would be used for the following purchases…

This year:

  • Pay for the remainder of the new varsity jersey costs (This Season)

  • New Varsity Game Bags (This Season)

  • New Varsity Stadium cold gear jackets (This Season)

  • Getting all Varsity games professionally filmed (This Season)

  • Subscription to Hudl, which allows players to make highlight tapes for college scouting and also watch game film. (This Season)

  • Senior night gift to Senior players (This Season)

  • Highlight tape for all Varsity players for the season (This Season)

  • Along with any other costs that may come up in replacing old equipment, tournament fees, etc.

Next year:

  • Soccer balls for the program

  • Along with any other costs that may come up in replacing old equipment, tournament fees, etc.

What do the JVA and JVB teams get?

JVA

  • Current Varsity jerseys home and away (This Season)

  • Current Varsity Cold Gear Jackets (This Season)

JVB

  • Current JVA jerseys home and away (This Season)

*Of coarse all of this is if the best case scenario happens and we raise the necessary funds.  If we do not raise the necessary funds I will have to go in order of priority and shoot for next year.

When is the fundraiser over?

I will be doing money turn ins Periodically.

The goal is to have the fundraiser finished by the time we go on spring break, but we will continue to fundraise until we meet our goals.

We really want the best for our players and we want to thank you all for your efforts in this fundraising event.

Coach Hickey
