  • Fit standard - 6 Minutes or Less

Half Mile

  • Fit standard - 2 Minutes and 30 Seconds or Less

Quarter Mile

  • Fit standard - 65 Seconds or Less


12 Minute Cooper

  • Fit standard - 7 1/2 Laps or More


3 Mile Run

  • Fit standard - 12 Laps in 21 minutes or less

Yo-Yo IRTL 1 Test Example Video

The Yo-Yo intermittent recovery tests have become some of the most extensively studied fitness tests in sports science and practice. Due to their specificity and practicality, the tests have been widely applied in many team sports to assess players`abilities to repeatedly perform high-intensity exercise (Bangsbo, Iaia & Krustrup, 2008).

RATING LEVEL

Elite > 20.1

Excellent 18.7-20.1

Good 17.3-18.6

Average 15.7-17.2

Below Average 14.2-15.6

Poor < 14.2


120's

  • players must run 120 yards in 18 seconds.  Players then have the remaining minute (42 seconds) to run back to the starting point.

  • There are 10 total Runs.

  • After the 4th and 7th run, you get an extra 30 second rest.

  • Fit standard - Pass all 10 runs


Manchester United Run

  • Length of each run is 100 yds.  The RECOVERY TIME is a slow run back to the original starting line. The next level begins at the 1 minute mark.

  • I.E. 1st level - 25 second sprint time run, 35 second recovery time run back to line, which is a total of 1 minute, and the beginning of the next level.

  • Your level is the last SPRINT TIME that you managed (for example---you failed to make the 22 second sprint so you are at Level 12)

  • Fit standard - Pass all 20 levels
